DEVL: The MIS development database for creating data conversion and modification routines for use with Banner. Recently this database was used to test the functionality of the Web For Employees module. This module is currently being installed in the other appropriate database instances.

UPGD: The original purpose of this database was to be a proving ground for SCT Banner upgrades. This database is a seed database that is used as the primary install point for all Banner upgrades in order to resolve upgrade technical issues prior to applying the upgrades to the other databases. This database was turned into a Banner 5.0 web enabled testing database due to the recent need to test the Web Enabled Banner forms on an instance separate from those being used by the user community.

UTST: The original purpose of this database was for a limited number of users to test the functionality of the Banner upgrades. This database contains all Banner software as well as any in-house developed software modifications. Currently this database is being used by the Project Fresh Human Resources Team for their data conversion and testing activities.

TRNG: The original intent of this database was for Banner training purposes. Currently this database in is use by the Project Fresh Finance Team for their data conversion and testing activities.

PROD: This database is for use by the MIS department as a pre-production staging area. This database is for the purpose of establishing a final configuration for Banner as it will be used in Production.

SEED: This database is for reference only. It is ‘vanilla’ Banner only and does not allow for the updating of any data.

DEVX: Not intended for tourists - for use by Systems Administration staff only. This database exists for the purpose of experimentation and testing by MIS personnel. Data in this instance is not reliable and the state of the database is in constant flux.

PARK: This database is for use by MIS personnel as a staging area for data conversion. It is not a Banner database and is not accessible by the user community.

REPO: This database is for repository use only and is accessible by the MIS department only. Any software that needs an Oracle repository to function will use this database.

MRDV: This database is for use by the Management Reporting Team for Warehouse development efforts. This is not a Banner database.
