In Banner Navigation Training, we described how you would need to download and install Jinitiator in order to access Banner. We also told you that you do not need to do this every time you login to Banner, but you may need to do it periodically when the Jinitiator is upgraded. Well, if you haven't done it since October 18, 2001, now is one of those times.

On Thursday evening, October 18th, the Banner Web Forms Server was upgraded to a newer version. The next time you login to Banner after that, you will be prompted to download a new version (1.1.8.14) of Jinitiator. Say YES at the prompt and install the newest version. This installation will be identical to the procedure you went through the very first time you logged into Banner. On the USNH Gateway web pages you can find documentation on the download and installation should you need it. As always, you may call the Help Desk at 2-4242, if you need further assistance.

Again, downloading and installing the Jinitiator is an occasional event. As a reminder, notifications of upgrades and other important Banner-related information will be available on the USNH Gateway web pages at <http://www.usnhgateway.org>.
