USNH
Joins Banner Large School Consortium
August 27, 2001
Diane Cotter, Project FRESH Administrator, represented USNH
at the Banner Large School Consortium (LSC) meeting in Malvern, Pennsylvania on
June 25–26, 2001. The LSC is an
organization of higher education institutions seeking improvements to the SCT
Banner Information System. Members must
be Banner clients and complex universities or institutes, which are large
(approximately 15,000 students or greater) and have a Carnegie
Doctoral/Research Universities classification or equivalent designation. The LSC was started two years ago with the
mission of focusing on the special needs of large institutions by working
collectively and collaboratively among the membership and with SCT to:
- Identify
functional and technical improvements for the Banner software products
- Identify
improvements to existing services and recommend new service opportunities
- Facilitate
communication between SCT and among constituents on identified issues
- Influence
product design and direction
- Leverage
the resources of the membership and SCT to develop and deliver software
and service improvements
In addition to USNH, the following institutions attended the
two-day meeting: Georgia Tech, McGill
University, Mississippi State University, University of California-Davis,
University of Illinois, University of South Florida, University of Tennessee,
Virginia Tech, and Wayne State.
