A Banner Time at the BSC Forum

More than 100 people from all USNH campuses turned out at the July BSC Forum to see a sneak preview of how the Buy/Pay process will work in Banner.  A similar turnout was experienced at the August BSC Forum when a demo of querying and cash receipts, budget, and journal entry processing in Banner Finance was presented.

On July 11, 2001, Stephanie Behan, Diane Cotter, Pat Madsen, Alice Samuel, and Denise Smith presented a live demo of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, direct payments and the CUFS to Banner account number crosswalk.  Attendees viewed first-hand how to enter these documents into Banner, as well as how to search on particular fields and extract information from the system. 

Kerry Scala and Karen Daniel were the presenters at the BSC Forum held in the MUB theatre on August 8, 2001.  Kerry and Karen demonstrated how one Banner form is used for multiple purposes, such as entering cash receipts, budget documents and journal entries, simply by changing the rule code field.  They then proceeded to impress the crowd with the system’s query feature by demonstrating the ease in which information may be searched and displayed in Banner.  As indicated by the comments and questions that were asked, financial system users are very interested in learning about the new system and are excited about the new features. 

These Banner demos at the BSC Forums are intended to provide future Banner users with sneak previews of what’s to come.  Formal training on Banner Finance will begin in the fall.  For the next several months, Project FRESH will be spending approximately an hour at each BSC Forum, presenting demos and discussing Banner-related issues.  The next BSC Forum will take place September 5, 2001.  Hope to see you there!
